This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable and engaging nanny who is looking to become an integral part of a warm and active family.
Location: Chevy Chase, MD
Children: Three boys (ages 13, 10, and 7)
Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right fit)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM (one later night per week until 9/10:00 PM); family is comfortable guaranteeing 30-40 hours per week for the right fit
Compensation: $35 - $45/hour
Benefits: The family is offering 5 days discretionary PTO (family will travel ~6 weeks, also paid), paid major federal holidays, 5 paid sick days, and a monthly healthcare stipend if needed
Live-out: This is a live-out role
Household Dynamic:
A welcoming family in Chevy Chase is seeking a personable, organized, and proactive nanny to care for their three boys (ages 13, 10, and 3). The children are in school full-time, and the family is looking for a nanny who can support their after-school routine, assist with homework, and provide extra care for their youngest son as he develops early reading skills. The family values an active and engaging nanny--someone who is sporty is a plus! While screen time is permitted, it is limited, and they would love a nanny who can encourage interactive and educational activities. The family has two cats (who do not require care) and a parent who works from home full-time. The other parent travels or works in the office full-time.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is trustworthy, reliable, and organized. They should be patient, fun, and personable, with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a busy household. A strong background in cooking is preferred, as meal preparation for the children is part of the role. The nanny should also be comfortable helping with homework support and extra reading practice for the youngest child. Fluency in or a strong understanding of Spanish is a plus, as it would be beneficial for engaging with the children and supporting their learning.
Responsibilities:
School pick-ups and after-school care for the three children
Assisting with homework and reading practice (especially for the youngest)
Preparing healthy meals for the children
Light household organization, including children’s laundry and clothing inventory
Kitchen tidying after meals and general household upkeep
Running light errands as needed
Occasional weekend hours and overnights (optional, not required)
Collaborating with the work-from-home parent and assisting with driving as needed
Qualifications:
Must have reliable transportation (family has parking available)
3+ years of childcare experience preferred but not required
Must be responsible, patient, and proactive
Strong cooking background is a plus!
Must be trustworthy, energetic, and highly engaged with the children
Comfortable working in a household with pets (two cats present)
