Household Dynamic:
A loving family in Newton is seeking a dedicated, flexible, and nurturing nanny to care for their two young children. Their oldest (4) is active, sweet, and fascinated by planes and space. Their youngest (2) is easygoing, enjoys being outside, and loves playing with their sibling. Both children attend school— the oldest will transition to full-day school in the fall, and the youngest attends from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM on weekdays. The family has a medium-sized, non-shedding dog who requires a daily walk. A car is not required for the position, as the family provides a nanny vehicle. Occasional domestic travel (2-3 times per year) would be a plus but is not required.
Ideal Candidate:
The family is looking for a nanny who is firm yet fun, proactive, independent, patient, and flexible. They seek someone who can set consistent boundaries while fostering the children's confidence and independence. A Montessori background is a plus, as they value a caregiver who encourages life skills and self-sufficiency. The ideal nanny will be reliable, nurturing, and eager to engage the children in creative, developmentally appropriate activities.
Responsibilities:
Provide loving, engaged care for both children
Walk the family’s dog once a day
Maintain consistency and structure while fostering independence
Manage school drop-offs and pickups using the family’s nanny car
Assist with household tasks while children are at school such as family laundry, kitchen tidying/dishes, handling packages and light errands, basic grocery shopping, running the robot vacuum, and seasonal clothing inventory for the children
Qualifications:
Previous nanny or childcare experience preferred
Must be proactive, patient, and adaptable
Comfortable working in a home with a friendly dog
Open to occasional travel (not required)
Experience with Montessori principles is a plus
CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification
If you are an experienced and nurturing nanny looking for a long-term role with a wonderful family, we would love to hear from you!
